Is this an emergency right now?

Use this as a quick check before you do anything else.

Call us straight away if: a tree or large limb has fallen and is blocking a driveway, gate or entrance; anything is resting on a roof, fence, vehicle, pool fence or structure; a trunk has split or the tree has visibly shifted in the ground; a broken branch is hanging above somewhere people or cars need to be; or storm damage has made part of the property unusable.

Who to ring, and in what order

  • Anyone trapped, injured or in immediate danger — ring 000.
  • A fallen powerline, or a tree touching wires — stay well back and ring your electricity network. Most of Western Sydney is in Endeavour Energy's network — 131 003. Your distributor is named on your electricity bill, and the network fault lines are 24-hour. Ring 000 as well if anyone is in danger.
  • Storm or flood damage — ring the NSW SES on 132 500.
  • Emergency tree work on your property — that is us. Call 0412 482 430.

Never approach a wire, a tree touching a wire, or a fence or gate the tree may have energised.

It is probably not an emergency if the tree is stable, nothing is resting on a structure, access is clear and the concern is how the tree looks or where it is growing. That is planned work, and you will get a better result — and usually a better price — by requesting a quote for the right service instead.

While you are waiting: keep people and pets well clear, and leave the tree alone. If a vehicle is parked under it, leave the vehicle where it is — do not go under the tree to move it. Do not climb it, do not pull at a hanging branch and do not cut anything that might be under tension. A limb held in place by another branch can move the moment it is disturbed.

What to send us

You do not need to identify the species or work out what went wrong. Plain language and a couple of photos tell us more than a technical description. The details that actually change how we plan the job are:

  • your suburb and street, and whether it is a house, unit block, strata property or commercial site;
  • what has happened — fallen tree, hanging branch, split trunk, storm damage, blocked access;
  • what it is on, near or over: roof, fence, driveway, car, pool, powerline, neighbour's property, shared path;
  • whether anyone is currently unable to use part of the property;
  • how we can get in: gate widths, side access, stairs, steep or terraced blocks, parked cars, low wires across the driveway, whether a truck or chipper can get near the tree;
  • whether you want the timber and green waste taken away, and whether you want the stump dealt with;
  • photos, sent by text message once you have contacted us and are safely clear — one wide shot showing the whole tree and where it sits, and one closer shot of the damage.

Photos are not uploaded through the form. Send them by text after you have contacted us, and only from a safe position. Nothing in a photo is worth standing under a hanging limb for.

What happens after you contact us

1. You tell us what has happened

Call for anything urgent. Emergency contact is available 24/7, and calling is the fastest way to reach us. Do not wait in an unsafe spot for a call back — get clear of the tree first.

2. We work out what the job actually needs

We ask about the tree, what it is affecting, the access and what has to be protected. That is what decides whether this is a branch job, a fallen-tree clear-up, a full removal or something that can safely wait and be booked as planned work.

3. We confirm the work and what it will cost

You get a clear quote for the work described, including whether green waste and the stump are in or out. We do not start work you have not agreed to.

4. We do the work and clear the site

The method depends on the tree and the space on the day. When we are finished, we will tell you what is left on site and what else at the property may need attention — a second damaged tree, a stump, or pruning that is now worth planning.

What emergency tree work costs in Western Sydney

There is no fixed price for emergency tree work, and any company quoting you one over the phone has not seen the job. What changes the figure is: the size and species of the tree, how much of it has failed, how close it is to a house or a boundary, whether we can get machinery to it or have to carry everything out by hand, how much timber and green waste has to be taken away, and whether a stump is included.

As a rough guide, the published GoTreeQuotes cost guide for Sydney reports planned tree removal typically costing between $1,350 and $3,490, and gives a Sydney average of $1,840. Those are two different things: the range is what it reports as typical, the $1,840 is its stated average. Both are size-dependent — the same guide puts small trees near $620 and very large ones near $5,490. For urgent work, it says 24/7 emergency call-outs commonly cost two to three times a planned job.

Those are third-party estimates for planned removal, published by a quote-comparison service. They are not TQTS prices, quotes or guarantees, and we do not work from them. What you actually pay depends on the particular job — the tree, what has failed, the access, what has to be taken away and where you are.

The next step is simple. Contact us and tell us what needs doing. Once you are safely clear you can text us photos, or we can arrange a site visit and look at the job ourselves — either way, we then quote it. Quotes are free, and we offer a 10% discount for pensioners. The price we quote covers the work we have agreed; if something else turns out to need doing, we quote that separately.

Council requirements across Western Sydney

Western Sydney covers several council areas, and each one runs its own tree application process with its own exemption criteria — Blacktown City Council, City of Parramatta and the neighbouring councils all publish their own rules. City of Parramatta's current guidance, for example, states that some tree works do not need Council approval and asks property owners to check the exemption criteria before starting.

Rules can vary by local council, the tree and the property. Check the current requirements with your own council if you are unsure. We do not decide council requirements or guarantee an approval outcome, and we do not prepare formal reports.

You can read more in our guide to council tree removal rules in Sydney.

Homes, strata and commercial properties

A tree emergency at a house is usually one owner making one decision. A strata or commercial site is not, and the delay is almost always in the information rather than the work.

For a house, a plain description of what has happened is enough to get started, with photos by text afterwards.

For a strata property, tell us who the site contact is, whether the tree is in common property or on a lot, whether the affected area is a shared driveway, path, visitor parking or courtyard, and who can authorise the work. If residents need to be kept out of an area in the meantime, say so.

For a commercial or industrial site, tell us the access restrictions up front: gate hours, truck access, height limits, loading zones, whether the work has to happen outside trading hours, and whether there is a site induction. It is far quicker to plan around a restriction than to discover it on arrival.

If it is not urgent, plan it properly

If the tree is stable and nothing is at immediate risk, you will get a better job and a clearer price by booking it as planned work rather than as an emergency.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Tell us where the tree is, what it came down on and whether it is blocking the only way in or out. Keep people and vehicles clear of it — a fallen tree can still be under load. Once you are safely clear you can text us a photo — one wide shot and one of the damage.

Yes. You can contact us 24/7 about a genuine tree emergency, and calling is the fastest way to reach us. What happens next depends on the situation, the location and the urgent work already booked, so please do not wait somewhere unsafe.

No, and it often should not. Plenty of urgent calls are one failed branch on an otherwise sound tree. Where the tree is basically healthy, removing the damaged part and reducing what is left can clear the hazard and keep the tree. We will tell you when that is the better answer.

Stay well away and keep everyone else away, including from anything the tree or wire is touching. Do not attempt to move it and do not take photos from close by. Ring 000 if anyone is in danger. For the wire itself, ring your electricity network — most of Western Sydney is Endeavour Energy, on 131 003. Your distributor is named on your electricity bill.

Ring the NSW SES on 132 500 for storm and flood assistance, and 000 for anything threatening life. Ring us for the physical tree work — clearing the fallen tree, removing the damaged limb, taking the material away. Many jobs involve both.

It depends on the tree, how much has failed, what it is near, whether machinery can reach it, how much material has to be taken away and whether a stump is included. For market context, the published GoTreeQuotes cost guide for Sydney reports planned tree removal typically running between $1,350 and $3,490, gives a Sydney average of $1,840, and says 24/7 emergency call-outs commonly cost two to three times a planned job. Those are third-party estimates for planned removal, not our prices, and they vary a good deal with tree size. An accurate figure depends on the particular job. Contact us and tell us what needs doing, then either text us photos once you are safely clear or arrange a site visit so we can look at it — and we will quote it. Quotes are free, the price covers the work we have agreed, and anything else is quoted separately.

Yes — by text message, once you have contacted us and are safely clear. There is no photo upload on the form. One wide photo showing the whole tree and where it sits, plus one closer shot of the damage, tells us more than a long description. Never put yourself under a hanging limb or near a wire to get a photo.

A tree that has changed — newly leaning, lifting soil at the base, a trunk that has split, or one that has moved after wind or heavy rain — is worth treating seriously and worth telling us about. A tree that has always leaned the same way is a different question and can usually be booked as planned work.

Rules can vary by local council, the tree and the property, and Blacktown, Parramatta and the neighbouring councils each run their own application process with their own exemption criteria. Check the current requirements with your own council if you are unsure. We do not decide council requirements or guarantee an approval outcome.

Yes. For a strata or commercial site, tell us who the site contact is, whether the tree is on common property or a lot, what the affected area is used for, and any access limits such as gate hours, truck access or work that has to happen outside trading hours.

We can. Green-waste removal is a separate work item, so tell us whether you want the material taken away or stacked on site and the quote will say which. Stump grinding is separate again — mention it in the same enquiry if you want it considered.

Tell us about access, gates, pets, parking and whether someone can be contacted about the site. What works depends on the job and the property, so it is worth sorting out when we confirm the work rather than on the day.

Yes. We offer a 10% discount for pensioners. Mention it when you enquire and we will apply it to your quote.

Yes, and that is usually the better option. Tell us what has changed and what you want done, and we will quote it as planned work such as tree removal, pruning or stump grinding instead of as an emergency job.
